With cutting techniques that blend precision and intuition, she brings artistry and thoughtfulness to every snip, redefining what it means to leave the salon feeling truly seen and uplifted. In this chat, Tracy shares the philosophy and techniques behind her signature style, offering a glimpse into the artistry that has shaped her career.
I'm in my element when I can enhance my guests' natural texture. I'm not into manipulating hair into looks that are challenging to recreate daily. My cutting technique can be a little contradictory, blending precision for an initial new shape with intuitive dry cutting to maintain the look. It might seem like I'm channeling Edward Scissor Hands, but I assure you, every cut is deliberate and thoughtful. It's not the quantity of hair removed that makes a style; it's selecting the right strands to cut.

Beyond doing good hair, the experience in my chair is one of being seen, understood, and cared for. My goal is to recognize their journey and for each guest to feel empowered and confident, knowing that their individuality is acknowledged and celebrated.

Hair should be an effortless part of your beauty routine, not a burden. Investing in the health of your hair and finding a stylist who understands your unique relationship with it is key. Try a customised hair shape and colour that harmonizes with your hair's natural tendencies rather than fighting against them. When these three pillars align (hair health, cut, and colour), your hair will effortlessly fall into place.

Forced, rigid partings. Hair should fall naturally where it wants to, creating a more organic look.

Alexa Chung, without a doubt. Her hair strikes the perfect balance between natural and iconic—effortless yet undeniably her. I love how she experiments with length, sometimes adding a fringe, and plays with colour—darker, lighter, warmer, or richer. She embraces her natural texture, even on the red carpet, which is what makes her style so timeless.

Breathwork is my go-to for calming and recentring. With two young children, it's important to me to transition from the studio's high energy into mum mode. I use a brilliant app called Othership, and even a quick three-minute session helps me recalibrate and be fully present for them.
