SUSTAINABLE SALONS NZ PROGRAM

Together we are part of the Sustainable Salons NZ Program, every appointment you pay $2 towards helping the planet. Your fee ensures the 'waste' created from your hair service is repurposed, even your hair, so it doesn't have a negative environmental impact. 

PRICING
We promise to charge you based on the time booked with the hair artist. The prices on our website & price-list are only a guide, but if your inner bean-counter needs a more accurate figure, please get in touch. We promise to come up with an epic hair plan for any budget.  Plus we have AFTERPAY. Shop now.  Enjoy now. Pay in 4 instalments, interest-free.

PRICE INCREASE
Common Thread has an annual price adjustment on April 1st. Every April, our suppliers slightly increase pricing along with government requirements as inflationary pressures increase costs for everyone.

COMPLIMENTARY FRINGE TRIM or NECK TIDY
We promise one complimentary fringe trim or neck tidy within six weeks of your previous booking. Bookings are essential.

WANT A CHANGE? OR ARE YOU NEW? 
TRY OUR ONLINE COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATIONS 
We require all new colour clients to have a 30-minute complimentary consultation before we colour so that we can assess their hair and do a hair test.

You can book in for a cut before your colour without having a consultation - your hair artist will carry out the hair test and consultation during your haircut.

If you want to change from the usual, it’s good to know in advance.
We offer online face to face consultations (or over the phone) for our regular clients wanting a change.

After your consultation & before your booking we can email a quote on request.

PRE HAIR WASHING ETIQUETTE
We kindly ask that your hair has been washed a minimum of 48-24 hours before your appointment, & you arrive with your hair dry - not wet. Sorry, hot damp hair straight from the gym is a definite no-no - take a few minutes to give it a wash and dry.

‣ I promise to wash my hair 48-24 hours before my appointment.

HYGIENE
We promise that the tools used by your hair artist will be cleaned appropriately between each guest. After you leave the studio, we clean the area where you were seated with environmentally friendly products ready for our next guest.

FEELING UNWELL?
We work closely with each other & sickness can spread between our team, families & other guests very quickly. If you are unwell on arrival to your appointment, you'll kindly be asked to reschedule. 

‣ I promise that  if I am unwell in any way, I will reschedule my appointment and there will be no cancellation fee. If I arrive at my appointment unwell, I will need to reschedule.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please be considerate of our team and other guest's who'd like a booking.

Our team's time is their livelihood, and as a small studio, last-minute cancellations have a massive effect on our business.

We kindly ask you to cancel or reschedule your appointment 24 hours before your booking. Any sessions that are cancelled with less than a 24-hour notice are subject to pay 50% of all scheduled services in order to rebook. A deposit will be put on file for all rebooking clients after a late cancellation or no show. Please note deposits are non-refundable. 

We hate to have to enforce this policy and sincerely hope you understand our need to do so.

‣I understand I will be charged 50% of my booking if I cancel my booking with less than 24 hours notice unless I am unwell.

RUNNING LATE
Are you running late? It happens. Please let us know as soon as possible. We'll do our best to manage our end to accommodate you. However, we may need to alter the service or reschedule your booking. Equally, if your hair-artist is running behind schedule, we promise to communicate this with you as soon as possible and to do our best to ensure you receive your full service.

‣I know that if I arrive late for an appointment the Studio will do it's best to accommodate me, but I may need to be rescheduled. I also understand that I may be charged for the time I missed.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE WHEN PERFORMING A CHEMICAL SERVICE
Whether lightening, darkening or seeking coverage of a home or professional colour, permed or relaxed, all these services present their own risk. Past applications are still present in your hair until it is cut off. Even mineral deposits from bore water, pipes, medications and our body's condition can contribute to how your hair reacts.

We offer a complimentary predisposition test to make sure the service is compatible with your hair. The test needs to be carried out 48 hours before your appointment.

‣ I am aware of the risks of NOT having a predisposition test and am happy to continue knowing that the outcome can’t be guaranteed.

The more we do your hair & know what the products are like on your hair (as every colour line is different), we can make more accurate predictions as we understand your hair better. 

‣I promise to be transparent to the best of my knowledge about my hair's history.

HOME HAIR-CARE IS REALLY IMPORTANT
We want your hair to be effortless & sustainable for as long as possible. So we promise to prescribe the best products to suit your hair on the day of your service. 

‣I understand Common Thread's services work best when accompanied by the professional shampoo & conditioners my hair artist prescribed.

DIDN'T MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
Our mission is to ensure you are 100% satisfied because everyone wants to feel beautiful and confident.

If you're not satisfied with our service, please let us know within 7 days. We will do everything in our power to make it right and ensure you are delighted with the result. If you have any questions about our work, please call us right away. We're driven to help you express the real you and want you to look and feel badass; we will make the necessary adjustments. So that you'll always love your hair, we offer revisits and rework, no monetary refunds.

‣I promise if I’m not entirely thrilled by my appointment that I will pass on the feedback ASAP & allow Common Thread to rectify my look within a seven-day window. 

Any feedback received after the seven-day window that needs rectification may incur an additional charge.

LUMINARY TERMS & CONDITIONS
Lumens expire after 12 months. Lumen are not transferable to another person nor exchangeable for cash. Luminary membership is complimentary. Common Thread reserves the right to cancel or remove Lumens without notice.
